Compass improvements

Compass Elements in the Ahead Content Building Block

The wait is over! Compass elements can now be referenced in the ahead content Building Block. Previously, this was the only content type missing, but not anymore. Now you can link Compass elements in News, Pages, and Events seamlessly.

This enhancement means Compass elements now join the ranks of supported content types alongside News, Pages, Events, Communities, and Stories. This improvement makes it easier to highlight Compass elements across your platform, boosting their visibility and impact.

Referencing Compass elements with the ahead content building block vs. connecting content to the Company Compass

You might recall the 'Connected to Company Compass' setting. When you use this setting, News or Pages appear in the Compass element's timeline, giving you a comprehensive view of all content connected to a specific Compass element.

With the ahead content Building Block, however, you're simply creating a clear and stylish link to a related Compass element. Unlike the 'Connected' setting, this does not affect the Compass timeline. This distinction offers flexibility in how you relate content to Compass elements.

A more prominent timeline

We know how valuable the Compass element timelines are for tracking related content. Previously, timelines weren’t easily discoverable, and many users missed them.

To solve this, the timeline section now prominently displays the latest three pieces of connected content (News, Pages, Events, or Stories). This improvement ensures timelines stand out, making it easier for users to find and engage with relevant content.

We hope this enhancement drives more attention to Compass timelines and encourages greater interaction.
