Frequently Asked Questions about Licensing, Pricing, and Support
How does licensing work at ahead?
ahead is licensed based on the number of users. The device used does not matter. Employees can access ahead via private or business smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktop computers.
Key points:
- The number of users corresponds to the number of employees in the organization
- User numbers can be adjusted once per year
- Mid-year adjustments only apply if the deviation exceeds ten percent
- Premium features are booked in addition to the base license and activated globally
- Maintenance, operation, and support are included in the annual license fee
Are there additional onboarding costs?
Yes. We offer different onboarding packages to support the technical, organizational, and content-related implementation. These costs are charged once.
When is the annual service fee billed?
The service fee is billed annually in advance. It includes platform usage, all updates, hosting, and editor support directly from within the app.
What is not included in the service scope?
Not included are:
- Migration and configuration of Microsoft Office 365
- Correct Microsoft Office 365 licensing, which remains the customer’s responsibility
How is support billed?
Unlimited support for all editors is included in the subscription. There are no additional support fees.
Is the licensing model technically monitored or restricted?
No. There are no technical usage limitations. License parameters are reviewed periodically based on contractual agreements.
How is the number of users defined?
The number and type of users are contractually defined. What matters is how many people can access ahead, regardless of actual usage.
User numbers for the following year are agreed upon before each renewal. As long as mid-year changes stay within plus or minus ten percent, no additional charges or refunds apply.
