What a year 2020 has been, huh? From trying to understand how fragile the world can suddenly be, to figuring out how to share our screens. It has been undoubtedly one of the most challenging years of our lives. But most of the times, challenges come hand-to-hand with progress and solutions.
We are taking this time to reflect on what milestones our intranet has achieved during 2020. From most recent to oldest, these are some of the greatest features that have made our internal communication service improve and grow.
Mobile Apps
Starting to bring ahead to smartphones is one the biggest milestones we have accomplished this year. Push notifications, and a much-improved user experience, are some of the ingredients to provide a faster communication between workforces. The app version of ahead is also the best solution to maintain everyone connected, especially the non-desk workers.
The Android app is out now! You can download for free here.
The iOs version of the app will be available in the beginning of 2021.
Messages
Another game-changer for ahead is the release of the messaging feature. You can now send and receive messages without the need of leaving your digital home. You have the possibility to search for anyone in your company and directly contact with this person, or you can also create a group chat. The goal was to find a solution for bilateral communication and well, we surely did!
Polls
Intentionally made for doubtful situations, this feature lets you ask your colleagues anything via an anonymous poll. Up to 4 options, you can add this building block to your pages and news and find out what the majority is down for. After the time you have set, the poll ends, and the results are visible to everyone.
Welcome flow for new users
Your first interactions with ahead are super important to us. That is why we developed a welcome process with guidelines to configure your own intranet, so you can fully immerse into ahead from minute 0.
Auto-translation for pages and comments
As part of our commitment to improve the reader’s experience, we released the Auto-Translate feature. This functionality allows the user to automatically translate content into more than 25 languages. Ahead supports four initial languages: English, German, French, and Spanish. But for international companies, the Auto-Translate feature allows users to choose a different one. These translations are real-time machine translations, powered by an external service.
Compass Timeline
With this feature you can travel back in time and check all the content, as stories and news, that has been published from most recent to oldest. This way, all the information gets collected and connected, as you can easily find what you are looking for.
