The digital transformation poses major challenges for the internal communication of medium-sized companies in particular. The ZHAW study took stock of the internal communication management of medium-sized companies in Switzerland and highlighted their need for development. A particular focus is placed on the three functions of internal communication - information, communication and collaboration - as well as the associated use of the intranet.
The theoretical section describes the role of internal communication management in the digital transformation of companies. Communication managers from twelve Swiss companies were surveyed on the topic.
The findings of the study were condensed into 15 recommendations for action in the four dimensions of strategy, organization, culture and technology.
